Our team has several years of experience in customs and FDA regulatory verification on different categories of food and non-food products.

Here too, we can support you to ensure compliance with legislation.

Beforehand, a due diligence is required on the list of products that you intend to import into Canada and/or the United States in order to determine:

  1. If products are subject to any specifications
  2. Products require ingredient verification
  3. Products require an import permit
  4. Products are subject to quotas and availability
  5. Products are prohibited from entry

HARMONIZED (HS) CODE REVIEW

Before you can import, a product verification of the Harmonized Codes (HS) must be carried out. This step ensures that your products will be taxed at the correct rate (if applicable) and will avoid costly verifications by customs authorities.

PERMIT APPLICATION

Your product may require a permit to import into Canada or the United States. Our team can support you in your dealings with the FDA (United States) and the CFIA (Canada).

REQUEST FOR RULING

Is your product new or has a significant technological advance and you are unable to classify it properly in one of the 99 chapters of the harmonized system? A 'Ruling' request may be appropriate.
